Senergy procures and manages drilling rigs in the North Sea. This
allows ‘first time’ operators to outsource their entire drilling and
rig management needs to Senergy. We manage well delivery with a
complete life cycle approach and offer full services on all aspects of
well construction. Working in partnership with our suppliers, customers
and smaller new entrant operators, we provide access to rig-slots while
passing on the financial benefit of a longer term rig contract. We
help clients realise their strategic commitments by assisting to meet
their responsibilities to investors/partners and the Government.
Senergy’s breadth of offering in this area includes rig contracts, well
design and operations management, QHSE management, complete well
tangible supply, well construction and logistics support, and
operational insurances. Combined with geological, reservoir and
performance drilling expertise, Senergy ensures valuable North Sea
assets are fully optimized while minimising capital and operational
expenditure.
Market Understanding
We maintain close connections with rig contractors in the UK and Norway and we understand how market conditions may be affected by un-contracted availability, potential global rig movements and new builds. Also, thanks to our close connections with operators and others who charter rigs, we understand the complexities and implications of over or under capacity.
Schedule Consolidation
We maximise rig usage by keeping a single consolidated schedule of all rigs which will potentially be available for lease over the following 2 years. It enables us to respond quickly to operators who need well operations support and rigs for short programmes.
Slot Management
If an operator has excess rig capacity it makes economic sense to find a use for it. Senergy can broker an arrangement with another operator who needs a rig for the period when it might otherwise be idle. Equally, we can help them to meet their commitments by arranging to take periodic slots in their programme.
Peak Loading Capability
We provide rig slots, plan wells and / or manage operations to alleviate operators’ stresses at times of peak activity or entry into new areas.
Rig and Client Contractural Arrangement
Planning and executing challenging drilling programmes at a time of heightened equipment shortages and rapidly escalating rig rates may pose problems for license operators on the UK Continental Shelf, many of whom are small, independent companies. Senergy can offer flexible contracting arrangements for rig and well operations management services.

We provide a flexible approach which can include customer-supplied or specified services. We are our clients’ proactive partner, offering a flexible contract structure, an auditable planning and cost management process, and crucially, openness in all subcontract terms and costs.
Our Field Development capability is second to none with experience in every continent and of all reservoir and fluid types. We have thousands of years of experience in the company and have successfully completed many large development projects. A recent example is a 10 person Senergy team covering wells, subsurface and production management which successfully delivered on a $500m Field Development Plan.
